The Opera Project is sponsored by St. Andrew's Church with a view to supporting the arts in the Lambertville and New Hope communities. As music education has been on the decline in recent years and many of our churches have turned from classic art music there is less opportunity for young singers to take up their art. Even many of our churches that have not turned from art music are not places where young and aspiring musicians are able to polish their craft as their programs are only fit for finished musicians. Increasingly, the arts are fostered by the colleges, universities and groups like ours. Often by the time young persons, who might indeed be gifted artists, arrive at university, it is too late for them to fully develop their skills. Really, where is the next Pavarotti to come from?
